Anne Marie Wells gave an entertaining talk to members at our 23 May Club Meeting. Anne's talk covered many topics including falling in love with her NZ husband while mountain climbing, and a career change from a software engineer to a dairy farmer.
A successful one at that – they won 2015 dairy business of the year, and were finalists in the safety and healthy work environment category in the first Primary Industries Good Employer Awards. The couple’s farm is also part of Fonterra’s open gate events. Anne is also a Toastmaster and spoke of the benefits of being a Toastmaster, sharing her humorous speech she gave at a recent competition. The story took us on a hilarious journey of unfortunate events that happened while Anne-Marie was out with friends in England. After many drinks Anne-Marie thought she had got on a bus home. However, instead she ended up somewhere else. The talk had Club members laughing as Anne went into different accents recalling her attempts to get home.
