Robert briefed us on the Wasp Eradication prgramme being facilitated by Rotary Dunedin South in conjunction with the Dunedin City Council; and invited our participation. Teams of four people will be required with one accredited as an "approved user" of the Vespex bait. The campaign will be mounted on Sunday 27 February because this is the time of year when the wasps are seeking-out protein. A follow-up, and removal of baits will take place a week later. No contact with wasps or nests is required, and the bait is not attractive to bees, and very low risk to birds, pets and people. .
