Our speakers were our three 2022 RYLA participants, Caitlin Wong, Michael Jolly and Kaitlyn Gillium. Each of them obviously thoroughly enjoyed, and benefited significantly from their RYLA experience.
Highlights they mentioned included…
An unexpected early awakening (4:30 AM) to see the sunrise from a Queenstown hill;
the experience of meeting and working with people with similar motivation and energy;
making connections with others from throughout New Zealand;
the total RYLA experience moving from scary to life-changing;
a common highlight seen to be working at a community garden;
discussions on what leadership is, who is a leader, and how to be a leader;
learning how to work with teams, and as part of a large group;
and participating effectively with people from different backgrounds, different life experiences, and with different personalities.
Each participant was very grateful for the opportunity that Dunedin Rotary had given them.
