A perfect morning weatherwise greeted club members and members of the public to plant 50 trees at the upper Rotary Park.
Trees for Families is a special event where people plant a native tree to celebrate family members, e.g. a new born baby or the life of past loved ones.
Rotary Dunedin has partnered with Keep Dunedin Beautiful to help run Trees for Families, usually on Mother's Day for many years now. This year is the first year the location for planting is in the upper Rotary Park area.
Today, a good crowd gathered and celebrated with mayor Sophie Barker, and Rotary Dunedin's President Elect Bruce Collier, who each gave an appropriate speech. After the speeches families planted their trees. A good turnout of 10 club members were present to support the public with planting their trees.
