I wanted to do a quick check in with you just to tell you how I am going.

Honestly the last month has flown by. I have been attending school for around 4 weeks now and have also just finished my two week language camp. School is good, I mean its boring for me and I hateeee waking up at 6;20 am, but I know it could be a lot worse. The only thing with Austrian school students is they’re super busy so its hard to actually spend time with them. Also since school finishes at 1;30 I have no lunch break to sit and get to know the girls. However that is NOT a complaint about finishing at 1;30, that is amazing. But I am working around these issues and I have some girls in my class who I feel like I can build a strong friendship with.

My host family Is just amazing and I feel super comfortable with them. They’re a lot like my family so I haven’t had any issues with them. I think that for me moving families will be quite hard, but I don’t have to worry about that for a while. My German is improving every day and now at home we integrate German into daily conversation so there’s a lot less English.

I haven’t felt any real homesickness, more so when I am tired and just want a hug from mum. A tired exchange student is deadly.

I am really looking forward to the next 5 months as I have heaps of super cool activities planned including skiing, my cousin is visiting, euro tour, Croatia and so much more! Summer in Linz and just overall in Austria will be amazing so I’m super excited for that.

Hope everything with you is good. Feel free to share this email with the club or anyone who wants an update.

Vielen Dank,
Lots of thanks.
