Ebb Hotel, the latest boutique Hotel in Dunedin. A family business owned by the Cazemier family which features 28 rooms over four floors. Dylan was our host and showed us around the property with the highlights being the artwork throughout the hotel and an impressive 2 bedroom suite.
The architecture was from a Sydney based INDYK Architecture and could be described as opulent modernism but at the same time there is a very local feel to the hotel, with local beer, photography and food on offer.
Dunedin Artist Simon Kaan was commissioned to create Ebb’s 20 metre long by three story high etched glass façade artwork, an abstract of Otago Harbour and the view of the land, sea and sky, digitally printed on to 30 glass panels.
The hotels name is derived from the harbours original tide-line in that area before reclamation.
There is art throughout the hotel and some very impressive social areas to meet other guests on each floor.
If you missed the tour, go online and book a night to check it out first hand!
