 Contestants Patrick, Tui and LauraThe competition for the 4-Way Speech Competition was held at the club meeting on Thursday 18th February. There were three entrants: Tui Kaita Marlin and Laura Canton from Logan Park High School, and Patrick Sefo-Cloughley from OBHS. All three spoke well and their subjects ranged from Feminism to the removal of the statues of historic figures, and the need to care for others and accept differences. Each of these was addressed with regard to the 4-way test. Bruce Cowan summed up on behalf of the three judges and announced that the winner was Tui Kaita Marlin. |
How about a "Random Act of Kindness"? Anyone?
To allow Cameron to prepare for his forthcoming role as President we require a volunteer to take over the task of maintaining the Duty Roster for club meetings. In the past a spreadsheet has been used but this is not essential (pen & paper would work just as well!). Main duties are to extend the roster each month; and email reminders to the duty team each week.
Paxton Hall, Cindy Chou, Megan Macdiarmid, Luke Geddes and Lachlan Williams attended the Science Forum in Auckland in January. Some of them will be reporting back to the Club this week.
