Expand your Rotary Experience

Through one of his (many) Rotary connections, Jonathan has received an invitation for our members to join a meeting (by Zoom) of the Rotary Club of Miami Brickell (Florida USA).
The guest speaker will be RI Director Stephanie Urchick speaking on “The Future of Rotary: RI’s Strategic Priorities and What We’ve Learnt from the Pandemic”. Stephanie has served Rotary in many roles, including as chair of the RI Strategic Planning Committee.
The meeting is this week - Tuesday April 13, 6:15 pm (socializing)  Meeting starts at 6:30 pm
(U.S. EST)  NB As Miami time is 16 hours behind us, my computer tells me that this equates to Wednesday 14 April 10:15 am for 10:30 am start NZ time (don't take my word for it, double check it yourself)
If you are familiar with Zoom and have the app installed simply enter  Meeting ID 960 3522 0343  Password   831944
If you have never used Zoom you will need to install the app - theres lots of help on the internet including this site www.theverge.com/21506307/zoom-guide-how-to-free-account-register-sign-up-log-in-invite
email me (Bruce) if you would like some practice beforehand.
This could be a great opportunity for you to expand your Rotary experience beyond our own club, and to learn some of the future strategies which the organisation is developing.

Our guest speaker Ian Chapman gave a very nostalgic presentation as he told us how his book "Okay Boomer" was researched and written.

Rally Otago 16-18 April 2021

Rally Otago will run on the 3rd weekend in April just 2 months away. We have been asked to marshal the Anzac Ave Super Special so we need around 20 people between the 3 clubs i.e. 6/7 from each club. Normal start time for the stage is 3pm so team leaders need to be in place from 2pm.
Covid will mean there are few if any overseas entries but we can expect a stellar NZ entry with Hayden Paddon running no 1

Can we get an indication of numbers by late March & names straight after Easter? Thanks, Peter Jackson

Duty Roster Coordinator
To allow Cameron to prepare for his forthcoming role as President we require a volunteer to take over the task of maintaining the Duty Roster for club meetings. In the past a spreadsheet has been used but this is not essential (pen & paper would work just as well!). Main duties are to extend the roster each month; and email reminders to the duty team each week.
Anyone willing to consider this position please contact Cameron to discuss.
