This is an open invitation to you and our club members.
Those attending would need to RSVP to Norm Sparrow, email norspar55@gmail.com by 17 July.

Mana Tangata
People of Action
Copies of this new book detailing the history of Rotary in New Zealand and the South Pacific are now available for purchase from Past-President Gordon
(Special Price = $40.00 due to the club agreeing to purchase in bulk).

Although published to document the history of Rotary locally, there are references to some interesting "highlights" from the world scene!  Did you know that the Vatican issued a decree in 1929 against Catholic priests participating in Rotary on the basis of its perceived links to Freemasonry? Rotary International took up the issue with the Vatican and it lifted the ban, much to the relief of Roman Catholic Rotarians p.47

Rotary Subscriptions and Foundation contributions
The Board has agreed that the member subs for this year will be set at $160. This is an increase from previous, but the optional Rotary Foundation contribution will be removed and we will look to fund this by alternative means. President Cameron will be sending out a survey to members seeking their feedback on options for this.

Off-Site meetings
The Management Group is interested in suggestions from members for the next Off-Site meeting - the date set aside for this is September 30th.

Social Breakfast
The Town & Country Group are organising a Social Breakfast on Tuesday 14 September at Ironic Café at 8am. If you are interested let Peter Gouverneur know.

Derek King has agreed to be our speaker this Thursday.
He is going to talk about Cargill Enterprises- what they do, and what impact Covid-19 has had on their business - and will also say some things in his role as District 9980 Membership and Development Convenor.
This will be his very last talk about Cargill Enterprises as he is shifting to a new and exciting role at the end of the month, in a different location and with very different challenges.
