Rotary Youth Exchange
WANTED – SECONDARY STUDENTS TO GO ON EXCHANGE IN 2021

Rotary Youth Exchange is an official programme of Rotary and we are now seeking applications from motivated secondary school students interested in spending a year overseas as part of this long established successful educational and cultural exchange.
This is your chance to obtain a Study Abroad “Scholarship” worth about $30,000 and to immerse yourself in the culture and become fluent in a foreign language in a supportive exchange programme.  Become fluent in Swedish, Mandarin, German, French, Danish or Spanish.
  • Students must be aged between 15 and 17 ½ at departure in January 2021.
  • Exchange partners for 2021 will include: Sweden, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Chile, Denmark, Belgium and Taiwan
  • No family Rotary affiliation required.
  • Applications close 30 April 2020.
Rotary Youth Exchange offers student training and preparation, a strong student support structure and oversight by a reputable global service organisation.  Students attend a local school but stay with several host families for variety and a true cultural experience. The effective “scholarship” is worth about $30,000, as through RYE there is no foreign student fee or need to pay for accommodation.
Students benefit from personal growth and development, independence and self confidence while making worldwide friendships and learning a new language.   If you want to gain a fresh understanding of yourself and others, have fun and a whole lot of new experiences consider being a Rotary Youth Exchange student for 2021.
If you are ready for a life changing experience and for the rewarding challenge and the unique and life long rewards that come from living in another country as a RYE student, then check out www.rotaryyouthexchange9980.wordpress.com or contact us for more information and an initial application form.

Otago Rally
The Otago Rally Tarmac Super Special is on again: 3pm on Saturday 4th April.  Rotary has been asked to do the crowd control again, the stage starts at 3pm so we will need team leaders in place at 2pm with together with a few gate keepers  & the balance of marshals by 2.30pm.

We need minimum of 20 marshals  & a max of 24 to run the stage safely

Norman Oakley thinks we should have better numbers this year as there are no stages close to Dunedin on Saturday so no other viewing choices, also Hayden Paddon is competing again together with Miko Hirvonen, Alistair McRae, Peter Jackson & some other wannabe stars

If you can assist please contact Peter Jackson.

Contact Details Update
We have noticed recently that the contact phone numbers in the Club Directory (via the website/ClubRunner) are out of date for many members. We kindly ask that you log into the Club Website and update your contact number as this is particularly useful for Meals on Wheels. Alternatively a print-out list will be at the welcome desk at the next meeting to check.
